The inspiration to create Velvet Beauty House dates back to my childhood. My Father was a Master Barber and Stylist. He owned and operated multiple Salons across our native country Bosnia and Herzegovina - southeastern Europe. I have vivid memories of playing in the stylist chairs, while he cut my hair. The ladies working at the Salons watched over me as if I was their own.

The stylists were an extension of the family and the salons were our houses. 

​

He travelled a lot for work and I spent many days missing him. I would sit for hours watching the roads hoping to spot his black motorcycle. When he would return, he always brought back a suitcase full of new dresses for me to enjoy. It was his way of assuring me, that he thought about me, while he was away. Velvet was one of my favorite fabrics to choose from. It has a unique quality that can look beautiful, powerful and appropriate for any occasion.

Velvet always had an attitude about its beauty that drew me to it.

The Velvet Beauty House reminds me of the wonderful memories I shared with my Father and I hope it continues to create new ones for others.  Beauty is a powerful symbol of love that one should never underestimate.
